Faith is not a work and never has been. Any time I say this, most Christians agree. ?Of course Faith isn?t a work! Don?t be ridiculous.? And although no one admits it, when I stand on the sideline of yet-another-Calvinist-Arminian debate, both sides are arguing that faith is a work.

Mike from
biblehelp.org has a prayer request. He has some
great articles which shed lots of light on Scriptural issues and the articles
are currently being translated into Portuguese. Another group in
wants to translate the materials into Dutch. He asks that we pray to God for blessing
and protection for the project.

Let me open my non-existent mail bag and answer one of the
most pressing unasked questions: What exactly do all the links on the menu bars
mean?

A lot of the blogs I’ve been reading seem to be from the Reformed camp. I’m wondering if someone would like to create a poll of Evangelical bloggers to see how many are Calvinists…

"Excuse me, sir but there is a gaping hole in God's righteousness."
We're back in the courtroom where Paul is defense lawyer for God. The
prosecution is Man and he's trying to prove how God is unrighteous.
"You say that God is righteous in that he justifies the sinner…but he
did nothing to the sinner's mind!"

Carnaval Salon du Refus? is in order! Apparently someone went and
nominated me for the Evangelical Underground’s First Annual Evangelical Blog
Award. This now pits me against the following heavy hitters:

Latest issue of David Dunlap?s ?Bible and Life? deals with the Lord’s Supper and the part it plays in worship.

In no particular order, my nominations for the First Annual Evangelical Blog Awards are the following: The Evangelical Outpost for the Best Overall Blog, Tim Challies for Best Designed Blog, Jeremy for Best Evangelical Apologetics Blog and The Happy Husband for Best New Evangelical Blog. Jollyblogger would likely get my vote for Best Evangelical Blog Pastor even though we don’t have any Pastors at my assembly. I’m also going to nominate the Thinklings for best Evangelical Group Blog.
I think I?ll suggest a category of ?Site Most Likely To Be Accused of Heresy? so that I have a chance at an award.

Some sort of ethical guideline is probably being crossed but greater minds than myself (Jeremy or RazorsKiss) could probably tackle it better. Hat Tip: TheWriteJerry via email

The
First Annual Evangelical Blog Awards has been announced and nominations are being accepted. Before anyone gets any ideas for nominating the Archive, realize that there is no section labeled ?Only ‘Plymouth Brethren’ Blog?. At this point I might win by default since no one has contacted me yet with their blog info (
.) On the plus side I can nominate
Tim Challies for Best Designed Evangelical Blog.

In the recent Vox Blogoli, Hugh Hewitt focused the Blogosphere?s collective attention on a Jonathan Rauch piece from the new Atlantic. Unfortunately, most of us couldn?t read the entire article because you needed a subscription?that being the case we fired our turbo lasers and blogged away. The written word proved to be the Blogosphere?s Death Star?it’s greatest weapon with a huge weakness.

I wonder if I should’ve bought stock in google. Video google launched. I actually did a search for Charles Stanley and got a bunch of online videos!

On the one hand I can put up an extremely long string of
different blogs which I blogroll?such a thing that would require endless
scrolling to reach the bottom. Or I can hide the blogrolls in links in the community
menu in the hopes that anyone reading this blog can find them. Unfortunately, I
don?t think you get
credit from Truth Laid Bear if I put it in any place but
the frontpage. What to do. What to do?

For you to study while I’m working on a post: What is Romans 5 all about? Is it a summary of the reason all men are guilty before God? Is it an explanation on how Christ is a new Adam…just like him but without sin?
Read the portion and think it out.

Update: Romans 5
part one and
part two.
