Christian Carnival 284 is Up At Parableman
The 284th Christian Carnival is up at Jeremy’s site, Parableman. My blog post on using our clothing (or anything we have freedom using) to illustrate the Gospel is on there.
Other posts that caught my eye (which I may or may not agree with):
- Jeremy’s post on drinking from the well of Academia caught my eye since I’ve been dealing with home schooling these last few days (what a way to plug and self-plug).
- The Ring of Gyges (make sure to read what the ring is on the side bar. It looks like an ad at first.)
- Who is Saved? in light of a recent loss in her family.
- This wasn’t in the carnival but I did come across it last week: Struggling with Un-Biblical Expectations.

A Response To Print Bible Only-ists
Recently Tim Challies has been going over a series on why we should leave our iPods at home while addressing some things about the nature of technology and the importance of printed words (owing much to Postman and McLuhan). I struck up a conversation at Theologica about e-Bibles and wound up with varied responses .
Christian Carnival 282.
Christian Carnival 282 is up at Tiffany’s Fathom Deep. My post on theological words that get overused (and you can even find comments over at Theologica as people come up with more oft-(ab)used words. Posts that caught my eye are as follows:
- Annoying Christian Cliches is in the same vein as my own post.
- Christians are domestic terrorists.
- Obama on Muslim and Christian Nations.
- The Top Ten most influential authors
- And this wasn’t in the Carnival but it annoyed me enough that it should’ve been so that I could link to it: Don’t Take Your iPod to Church where he decries electronic Bibles and admits that he may be overshooting his point. I’d say. The man has apparently never been in a situation where his study Bible is one version (NASB) the congreation is using another version (KJV) and it is in Spanish (Reina Valera). You’ll be reaching for your electronic Bible real quick then!

The Christian Carnival CCLXXX is Up
Hop on over to Crossroads: Where Faith and Inquiry Meet, to enjoy the latest edition of the Christian Carnival. Due to a hiccup in the submission form, my post on Adam’s relationship to Us wound up disappearing into the ether but was graciously added into the Carnival anyway but this weeks host, Diane. Thanks Diane!
- Highlights (which I may or may not agree with) also include:
- The cost of being Jewish
- The mystery of Jesus the Son of Sie.
- Would Jesus being mistaken of something he believed imply sinfulness? The author seems to conflate lack of certainty with being mistaken but I think it’s a valid question.
- Although I didn’t see it in the Carnival (probably fell into the same hiccup my post did) Jeremy’s post on Humans, Animals and the Soul is a good read.
