This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched (concerning the word of life?and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us). (1 John 1:1-2 NET)

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death?even death on a cross. (Phil 2:8 NET)

In the beginning, before time, as a primary and first cause, was the Word and there was God. Not a separate other entity as if there were multiple Gods, but one God but a different personality.

God, an immense, boundless, eternal God and the Logos, the thought, the Word in complete equality: immense, boundless and eternal and in complete agreement with each other and being each other.

How is it possible to even conceive of such a thing, and yet there it is?we have entered into the very presence of the Godhead which exists without physical and temporal form, existing outside of time? How is it possible to even imagine this person of the eternal Godhead to show Himself in time, becoming a temporal and physical presence, in a way which He had not shown Himself before? He condescended into His very own creation, became a man and the text says that in this manifestation of Himself, the disciples witnessed Him. In John’s awe he goes on to say that they saw this manifested life with their very own eyes and they touched Him!

Eternal, Beyond Time, Boundless God became flesh and humbled Himself to the point of death. He didn’t stop being God, He was (and is) boundless. His sovereignty, His holiness, his eternal love didn’t cease in the least but there on the tree, as a man (and fully God) he cried out ?My God, My God, why have you forsaken me??

Will we ever fully understand this even occurring between God Almighty and God Almighty? Will we ever fully understand the boundless love of God’s grace and mercy that He would come down and do such a thing? We can cry out with Paul concerning God in this: ?How unsearchable are your judgments and your ways past finding out? (Romans 11:33 KJV). With that outcry we can crumple down before Him and worship.
