What happens to those who have never heard the Gospel?<\/span> This addresses
\nthe sweeping portions of the population which ranges from the heathen, the
\nmentally handicapped, the infants, the still-born and the miscarried. Eternal
\nlife unto him who believes (Jn 3:15<\/st1:time>)?but
\nwhat if a person never heard<\/span>?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Miles across the sea far removed from Christianity and Judaism;
\nthere are places where some natives have been dying for generations. No
\npreacher in their midst and no gospel being heard. <\/p>\n

Near to home, my wife and I have lost 4 children via
\nmiscarriage. We have friends who have had still-born twins. I personally know
\nof people who their whole life was spent in a wheelchair while howling or
\nlaughing at unseen things in the sky. With so many deaths, how is it possible that
\nsome Christians tritely portray God as throwing them all into the Lake<\/st1:placetype>
\n of Fire<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> while simultaneously rejoicing
\nat His glorification? This only fuels the fiery indignation of those who hate
\nGod already and impugns God?s righteous character.<\/p>\n

 
<\/o:p>God?s Character
\nExplained<\/b>
Some decide to float some of God?s attributes where they see
\nfit as if He acts independently of any of those attributes. ?Ah, when God
\njudges He is emphasizing Holiness.? Really? Scripture has God
\ncompartmentalizing His omnipotence and omni benevolence so you wouldn?t see one
\nfrom the other?<\/p>\n

Christ is clear when He responds to the demand ?Show us the Father.?(Jn
\n14:8) He tells them that whoever has seen Him has seen the Father already (Jn
\n14:9). This Jesus who is perfectly merciful and has the authority to judge (Jn 5:22<\/st1:time>) came to save all men (Jn 12:32<\/st1:time>)?in His patience (2 Pet 3:15<\/st1:time>), He held His right to judge in reserve
\n(Jn. 3:17<\/st1:time>). I speak as a fool; was
\nChrist more loving than holy? <\/p>\n

The Son, being the express image of God and the brightness
\nof God?s glory (Heb 1:3) is effectively God?s physical manifestation (1 Ti 3:16<\/st1:time>). God then is undeniably holy (Ps 99:9)
\nand perfectly love (1 Jn 4:16<\/st1:time>). Such
\na God would be righteously just and graciously merciful seeking that all are
\nsaved (Is 45:21,22). When He judges, none will be able to say ?Ah, He was
\nunjust.? (Rom 3:4, 5) Oh man, stop defaming God as if He will make arbitrary
\nand unjust decisions simply because He can while shouting down at the stupid
\nmortals ?How dare you speak back? Doesn?t the potter have power over the clay??
\n(Rom 9:20<\/st1:time>, 21).<\/p>\n

God is not a man (Num 23:19<\/st1:time>)
\nthat He will succumb to wrathful indignation from petty spite. Vengeance is
\nsurely His (Rom 12:19<\/st1:time>), but He will
\ndo so justly. Judgment is His as is condemnation and each He does righteously
\nand mercifully. This tells us that He will not have His named defamed (Ex 20:7;
\nDeut 18:17<\/st1:time>-22). If He sets about to
\ndo something, He will make sure it is done (Phi 1:6). The judge of the Earth
\nwill do right (Gen 18:25<\/st1:time>).<\/p>\n

How will He do this? God hoping that His name is kept pure
\nwill depend on finite men to get the message across but if men fail God?s
\nrighteousness and justice is derailed? Of course not! Christ went up to the
\nFather and sent the Helper not only to teach believing men (John 14:26<\/st1:time>) in their weakness (Rom 8:26<\/st1:time>) but so that the Helper may bear witness,
\nconvicting the world of its sin, of God?s righteousness and of judgment (Jn
\n16:8). The Infinite and Living God, righteous and just, personally involved in
\nHis self revelation!<\/p>\n

 <\/o:p>
God Character
\nRevealed<\/b>
God begins to reveals Himself, specifically His power and
\nHis sovereignty, in creation and nature (Rom 1:18<\/st1:time>-32).
\nWill men question the revelation and seek to know more about the one who has so
\npowerfully made all things? Will they wonder if such a God is knowable? Or will
\nthey build an idol from the created wood and claim that it is their god? One is
\na logical questioning (if all this is so great, the maker of it all must be
\ngreat) and the other is a senseless degeneration (since all this is so great,
\nlet me make something from it and call the thing I made my god). <\/p>\n

If this very simple revelation is rejected, God has every
\nright to drop it there. The person has not responded to their visible
\nsurroundings and instead created their own frame for religion. Yet God continues
\nto be evident in the fact of the mind and conscience of a man?who is still
\nresponsible to react to that evidence as well.<\/p>\n

If such a person seeks the answer (Ps 69:32; Mat 7:7; Lk
\n11:9), God is faithful to send a messenger of the Gospel. He will make sure
\nthat the message reaches the intended recipient (Acts 8:26<\/st1:time>-38)?and they must react to that as well (Ps 14:2). Do
\nthey believe it?or deny it (Acts 8:37<\/st1:time>)?\n<\/p>\n

God is merciful in His judgment; giving punishment to the
\nlevel of revelation the individual has been a recipient of (Luke 12:47<\/st1:time>-48). If there are those to which God has
\nrevealed much, much would be required of them?and in this world they may become
\nan advertisement of God?s punishment so that all may see and believe (Ex 9:16).<\/p>\n

God?s Character
\nSustained<\/b>
But as I said, there are those who haven?t heard because
\nthey never could hear. They are unlike those others who are revealed the
\ncharacteristics of God. Some of these that were mentioned could not tell their
\nright hand from their left (Jon 4:10<\/st1:time>,
\n11).<\/p>\n

If God is so willing to transport a disciple miles to get
\nthe gospel to a man who is reading Isaiah (Acts 8:26<\/st1:time>-38)
\nwe should be supremely assured that God is NOT reveling in the loss of infant
\nlife. The express image of God wanted children to come to Him (Matt 19:14<\/st1:time>; Mar 10:14<\/st1:time>;
\nLk 18:16<\/st1:time>) and told people that of
\nsuch is the Kingdom<\/st1:placetype> of God<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>
\nand to enter into His kingdom they had to be as a child (Mk 10:15<\/st1:time>). <\/p>\n

Sin has marred creation and all in it so that it groans with
\nthe expectation of one day being remade (Rom 8:21<\/st1:time>,
\n22). Our very own bodies attest to this, falling apart physically and in our
\nmind, constantly seeking after sin (Rom 7). Yet Christ died for the sin of the
\nworld (Jo 1:29<\/st1:time>) and that sin is the
\none sin which wound up having God subject all of creation under its power (Rom 8:20<\/st1:time>)?the sin of Adam (Rom 5). Christ came to
\nsave the meek (Psa 37:11; Isa 11:4; Matt 5:5), the weak (Joe 3:10<\/st1:time>), the oppressed (Ps 146:7) and the
\nfoolish (1 Co 1:27<\/st1:time>). Those who had
\nno ability to even look and see God?s revelation are surely saved by His wonderful
\nwork of grace and mercy and for the sake of His justice and righteousness. <\/p>\n

In conclusion, God reveals Himself to men and will further
\nreveal Himself based on their reaction to previous revelation. God will send
\nHis gospel if there are ears willing to hear it. If the ears can not hear it
\nbecause they are so young that they can?t understand it and they pass away?God
\nwill save them by what He already did on the cross through His Son. Therefore I
\ncan rejoice (Romans 5:1-11), not only in the love of God which has found a way
\nto save guilty sinners from condemnation but for His wisdom (Rom 11:32<\/st1:time>-36) which He would reach out through
\ntime and display his justice with his loving-kindness and his Holiness with his
\nrighteousness.<\/p>\n
