Now, we have two priests, Sons of Aaron (Nadab and Abihu), running up to the altar with what the passage calls ?strange fire?. The Lord consumes them immediately and we are left to examine the nature of their sin (Leviticus 10:1-3).

Evolution of the Altar 1: Commandment

Now don’t get me wrong?I am not saying that church has nothing to do with relationships. The epistles from the previous posts illustrated the point that the local gathering (when functioning correctly) does in turn affect relationships. It is putting things in their proper order that creates the right results in relationships. Using an Old Testament type, let us look at the Altar to shed light on the following statement:

The Jewish Calendar

Recently, a friend asked me when the 7 Feasts occured in the Jewish
Calendar. The question came up because we were taking a look at the Day
of Pentecost and how long Christ was on Earth. We’ve both been in
enough meetings where we knew that 50 days after the Passover was the
Day of Pentacost….but what did that mean? It meant we had assimilated
information without verifying the facts.

Thus began the hunt and of course we sought the Bible:

Jesus In the Midst

Before they entered land of Canaan, Israel was promised a future leader
by Moses when he said: “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the
midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken…” (Deut.
18:15) From then on, Israel looked for this great Prophet that God would raise up?the
Messiah?someone similar to Moses who was appointed by God to lead the nation.
