I was listening to a preacher talk about why he is a Calvinist and one of his proofs was dealing with the questions of Romans chapter nine and how his answers gel with what Paul writes. I’m not sure if that makes sense right now and I’ll have to go into further detail on how he (and others) do this, but up front I think this argument is flawed.

STOP Bible Study Method on Context
The STOP method illustrated stands and falls on context. This is why Steadfastness and Orderliness are two of the important features of the method. By being disorderly, or lazily skipping over verses, you may potentially fall into one of the greatest dangers of Bible studying.
Stop Method Illustrated -tmp(Jude 1)
Doug suggested that I walk through the STOP method so anyone who wants to can see it in action—he makes a valid point. It’s hard just reading about a method without actually doing it with a person (and that’s why when I did the seminar at our gathering I made sure to actually go through a chapter doing the method). What I’m going to do is take the letter of Jude and show the STOP method in action.
