Denominations versus Divisions

I don’t like the word denominations nor do I really like the term “Plymouth-Brethren” for my (so-called) denomination. According to Scriptures the only thing I see Christians being called is Christians or brethren.

When I look out at that vast landscape of Christendom and a person calls themselves a Christian and exhibits the fruit of their profession, I call them brother or sister—so do most of the folk I assemble with. A Christian should be able to embrace all believers as being part of the Body of Christ although acknowledging that others may not be convicted of the same things.

Elijah: The Proclamation

Against the aforementioned darkness comes the brightness of the Living God?s testimony in the person of Elijah. This man comes, announcing a sign of judgment on the people as proof of his ministry. He stands in the king?s court untouched and resolute in his proclamation that there would be no rain, not even dew, for the next 3 years?until he gives the command.

Blogs, Joel Osteen and Apostosy

The dreaded death star of the Blogosphere is being re-deployed and it is only a matter of time before its commanders decide what should be the new focus of its powerful superlaser. Don?t get me wrong, I enjoy the freedoms we have here on the web, expressing our ideas and finding in Scriptures and the fact that bloggers have a voice is to be applauded. The Technological War is a fast-paced one and the guerillas and imperials are always making an effort to take back the web be it through technology or otherwise. The rebels, the bloggers, fought well and hard and are gaining serious momentum in their New Republic, but now they have built their own Imperial death weapon and is constantly on the hunt for a new post-worthy target.

Prayer Request: Missions

PT is planning a week long outreach to teens in his city for March and a two week evangelistic mission trip to India in June and a week long outreach into the inner city of Miami in July.

Pray for him and those working with him in the spreading of the Gospel.

Elijah: The Place and Setting

The stories of Elijah?s life may not be as famous as David and Goliath, but they are just as powerful and descriptive. Elijah, standing on Mt. Carmel laughing at the worshippers of Baal suggesting that they speak up?perhaps their god is out to eat or something. Or perhaps we may remember Elijah, his heart melted as he wishes that he could die.
