In my experience urban Teens have usually appealed to 1 Corinthians 9 for supporting the way they dress, act and use modern vernacular: Apparently adults are thinking the same thing about how to approach society in general. “To preach the gospel to those bar hoppers—I have to go to the bar and have a drink with them!†Centurion’s post on TeamPyro that circumstantially deals with Driscoll but really is concerned with the vehicle for the Gospel sparked this post so I wanted to look at this: Does Paul’s statement of becoming all things to all people mean becoming just like them so that we can preach to them?

The Voice completely changed Noah’s life. One moment he’s heading to market the next God is telling him that everything is about to die.
When looking at John 3:14-16 I’ve encountered three major
views which expand, restrict or flatten the text. The labels which I will be
using are placed in an effort to categorize the interpretation not to refer to
any of them pejoratively. Note that there may be some intermingling of these categories
but this post isn’t concerned with that. Neither is this post concerned with
any theological framework that may be influencing the interpretation. My sole
purpose is to see if either of the interpretations handles the material
correctly and if it supports the subsequent thesis.
The meaty questions that we may get from looking at this chapter in detail: What are the implications of knowing good and evil in that experiential sense? What does it mean to future generations? How does separation from God affect man?s thinking and ability to act?
Phil (from PhilThreeTen) brought up a point regarding election that bore some
investigation. I did this in the past, but since I don’t have access to my
computer I had to do the research over again. Basically I started going through
and finding references to “choiceâ€, “electâ€, “chosenâ€, “chosen one†(and
variations thereof) to see if election is used for an individual and if so—in
what sense. With very little commentary and with the disclaimer that this list
is in no way exhaustive (since I don’t have time to recreate days of research
in a few hours), here’s the list.
