There are then some basic lessons that we might get from Genesis 2 which may be of personal benefit. Indeed many have looked towards the institution of the marriage covenant and have drawn long sermons for Valentine’s Day banquets. I just want to touch on a few things as an overview and as a leading thought into Genesis 3.

The STOP method illustrated stands and falls on context. This is why Steadfastness and Orderliness are two of the important features of the method. By being disorderly, or lazily skipping over verses, you may potentially fall into one of the greatest dangers of Bible studying.
Doug suggested that I walk through the STOP method so anyone who wants to can see it in action—he makes a valid point. It’s hard just reading about a method without actually doing it with a person (and that’s why when I did the seminar at our gathering I made sure to actually go through a chapter doing the method). What I’m going to do is take the letter of Jude and show the STOP method in action.
