In our last post we touched on a few things. Namely, that
before Christianity there were ceremonial baptisms, or washings, of the Old
Testament and the baptism of John. We looked at John’s purpose in baptism and
we looked at what the people did as they went to get baptized. We also mentioned
some baptisms brought by Christ—one with the Holy Spirit and one with fire. Lastly,
we managed to begin to see what role water played in the giving of the Holy
Spirit in the book of Acts. Today, we start to encounter problems…

A bunch of links on baptism. Come on in and enjoy.
Brother Ron has been doing an in-depth study on husbands
loving their wives. Excellent series. Also, early on he linked to Sister Kristen
who did a couple of great posts on marriage.

The Current State of Cooking
If you travel in and around the Queens area, you will be exposed to several different cooking styles. Some of these styles may be featured in some local eateries where one can spend a decent dollar to have a meal. Recently, I?ve noticed something odd happening in the non-commercial cooking community?people are splitting down cookery lines!
Heresy Comes Softly
It?s pretty funny how easily heresy creeps in. Sure it might
take a while to come up with especially if it?s going to be really convincing.
You know, the mulling it over, making the new concept taste right, justifying
it in Scripture and convincing yourself. Yet, when it makes its first
appearance it does so in such a manner that the non-Berean ear may sit there
unaware, smiling and maybe even ?Amen?ing. To see it happen before your eyes is
outright scary.
