Dispelling Disappearance Rumors

Just wanted to dispel some rumors about my absence. I was NOT caught up into the third heaven (only to find out that I’ve got everything wrong). I was NOT caught up in a liberal and postmodern branch of the Plymouth Brethren (who believe in wearing black head coverings instead of white ::gasp::). Neither was I raptured leaving the rest of you behind.

I’m still here. Working on my kids, life, job, yard and posts. Posting will resume shortly.

Tim Challies is A Criminal

I’m way too unmotivated to be jealous of the fame of other bloggers yet I find myself turning a dark eye in the direction of Tim Challies.

Early in 2002 The Bible Archive launched. Since I didn’t start full-swing posting until sometime later that year (perhaps even early the next) and really didn’t define the site as a blog until late 2003/early 2004 I was relegated to a third-tier blog (of course, this is what I tell myself).

Christian Sci-Fi: The True Myth

My buddy-blogger Darrell first scored Amillenial on the Eschatology quiz and then took dispensationalism to town citing some problems inherent in the system and some really bad press due to overzealous Left Behind Series theologians. Darrell rightly points out that taken to its extremes dispensationalism can become a sort of mythology which allows non-Christians to dismiss Christianity as a Sci-Fi Cult…a point which gave me pause.

I’ve tried to answer Laura’s questions by numbering them but i do hope that in the article I tried to be equally fair to all the positions. Here’s a post where I looked at the actual point of Genesis 1 .

It was tough answering these questions because of the way they were phrased. (HT: Jeremy)
