Angry Test Post

There is no reason but an unknown one.

A specific folder in my server (the blog folder) for some reason left the content folder password protected to no one and the main blog folder needed to be chmodded all the way down to the core to allow certain actions: I don’t know why. It’s not like I’ve done any changes or even sneezed near my blog yet for some reason it up and blocked me for weeks.

A Calvinist would say that this was predetermined. An Arminian would say that if I persevered I would’ve come through this all right. A Calminian would say “Can’t we all get along?” A Dispensationalist would’ve pointed out that it was a judgment on my blog that ended the Last Age. A Covenant Theologian would point out that the new stage of my blog is merely a further revelation of the Old therefore many of the elements are the same if not completely transposed spiritually. A Traditionalist would say that I should be motivated to post only in Psalms while a Contemporary-ist (?) would say that I should lift up my voice with the timbrel and dance.

Either way, I think I’m back in business. Blogging to resume on the morrow.

My WordPress Won’t Let Me Edit Articles (fixed)

I’ve been plagued with this problem for about two weeks now. I could write a post, I could publish it: but it would never show the information in the content field. The only thing that would publish would be the title, the tags and the categories. I could write comments and I could even delete entire posts: but I just couldn’t edit them. If I went into the edit field, I could type but once I clicked save the edits would dissappear.

Another sign of this problem was that I couldn’t switch to code mode: it was always stuck on visual editor. After some heavy searching I found two fixes, one safer than the other.

Christian Carnival at Parableman

Christian Carnival is currently up at Jeremy’s.

In case you’re not familiar with the Christian Carnival, it’s a weekly collection of blog posts written by Christians from a Christian perspective (including Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant Christianity). For more information, you can look at the instructions for participation in the Christian Carnival, the list of previous Christian Carnivals (although it hasn’t been update in a while), and the most recent list of scheduled hosts for future weeks. -Jeremy

Psalms 137: Dash the Babies?

Psalm 137 is gorgeous and some would say “almost perfect”. Lots of Psalms fall into that category in people’s minds: that Almost Perfect slot. You usually know where people feel any Psalm falls short during the Lord’s Supper when one of the brothers is sharing a Psalm and stops just short of the end. Surely the rest of the Psalm was right and nice…but that last bit really threw the whole thing off. Psalm 137 is, once again, a perfect example.
