Jesus returned to Jerusalem on Monday. Yesterday’s events still reverberated throughout Jerusalem. He had wept as he approached Jerusalem and now, as He approached the very heart of the city of God’s chosen people, His heart was filled with a zealous anger again (John 2:17).
Jesus Wept On Palm Sunday
The people rejoicing caught up in the rush of it all while the disciples shouted loudly, praising God. People took off their coats and lay it on the floor while others rushed to Palm trees, took branches and lay them on the dirt. Now they praised Him; in a few days they would reject Him.
Chronology of the Passion Week
I had originally planned this super-intelligent series of posts where I would chronologically cover each of the events during Jesus’ final week. The series was going to be incisive, illustrate connections of thought, move the soul and be most satisfying for my own personal studies.
Which Part Got Crucified? (Romans 6)
I?m looking over Romans 6 again and just thinking about that bit about being buried with Jesus and being raised from the dead with Christ. That whole walk in the newness of life just rings a bit hollow when I think about my constant stumbling into sin. It can happen on the spur of the moment or after some pre-planning. Bam! There goes that tongue again. Oh no! Here comes anger! Over and over and over and over again. Duck! That was pride!
