Chronicle number one of God?s gospel dealt with the great
problem man has before God. It showed the doctrine of condemnation
because of sin. Chronicle number two dealt with God?s Savior.
The Savior is not a philosophy or a religious program but a unique
Person: the son of God and the son of man, Jesus the Lord.

This third chronicle looks at the performance required for
one?s sin that is satisfactory to God the Father. The ethics,
teachings, miracles, moral values, example and popularity of
the Lord Jesus are powerless apart from His performance for sin.
His Person apart from His right performance for sin saves no
one.

Chronicle number one of God’s gospel dealt with the great problem man has before God. It showed the doctrine of condemnation. All need the gospel for all share in the bad news. All, religious and nonreligious, are not just sinners but stand guilty for their sin before God.

For example, one might go out to his garden to get a head of cabbage and find the cabbage is all mushy and rotten. He does not, however, call the police and press charges against the cabbage. For though the cabbage is bad, it is not guilty; it had no moral responsibility. It was just a victim of its environment. But if a thief broke into his house and stole his goods, cabbages included, now he presses charges for the thief was morally responsible and therefore guilty.

Surpassing Mediocrity

Nobody’s Perfect.
We live in the age of mediocrity. No longer are there absolutes, there are only opinions. No longer are there standards, there are individual convictions. Few have truly decided to understand that there are no shades of gray. In the perfect brightness of the Lord our God there is black and light. Nowhere in the Bible does it speak of reproving the works of grayness and nowhere does it mention living in the gray.

The Jewish Calendar

Recently, a friend asked me when the 7 Feasts occured in the Jewish
Calendar. The question came up because we were taking a look at the Day
of Pentecost and how long Christ was on Earth. We’ve both been in
enough meetings where we knew that 50 days after the Passover was the
Day of Pentacost….but what did that mean? It meant we had assimilated
information without verifying the facts.

Thus began the hunt and of course we sought the Bible:

Character Profile: Titus

Paul instrumental in his salvation (Titus 1:5)
Mentioned by Paul as seemingly known by the Galatians (Gal 2:1-3)
Went with Paul to Jerusalem (Gal 2:1-3) likely on the matter of circumcision in Acts 15 perhaps as
Titus, an uncircumcized Greek who wasn?t compelled by his adversaries to get circumcized. (Gal 2:3);
Attesting to his strong character Paul even states that Titus walked in the same spirit and step as himself (2 Cor 12:18)
He was to meet Paul at Troas (2 Cor 2:12)
Made a beginning of a work in Corinth (perhaps in relation to the gift offering) and he was subsequently urged to complete in the Corinthians this gracious work (2 Cor 8:6)
Was sent to Corinth by Paul (2 Cor 8:16-22, 2 Cor 12:17; 2 Cor 12:18)

Perhaps went to Rome, but eventually seems to have left Paul and went to Dalmatia?the reason is not explained (2 Tim 4:10)
